Purpose
How many tech professionals are there in Spain? How many companies build technology? I have been asking myself these questions for a long time. The answer is not simple. There is no official figure.
Who it is for
- For people looking for a job: knowing which companies are in your city, which ones work with your stack and which ones are hiring.
- For companies: becoming visible to tech professionals and saying first-hand where they are, how many tech people they have and what they work with.
- For the community: an open dataset about the sector that anyone can use for their own analysis or projects.
Where the data comes from
Today, almost everything comes from public sources: GitHub organizations located in Spain, each company's website and its jobs pages. It is a starting point, and it has gaps: many companies are missing and many profiles are incomplete.
The idea is to keep adding new ways of obtaining data little by little, so there are more companies and more information about each one over time.
A project by and for the community
The best source of data about a company is the people who work there. That is why anyone can suggest a missing company, fix a detail or complete their own company's profile, without signing up. I review every proposal before publishing it.
Who is behind it
Spain Tech Radar is a personal project by Raúl Cotrina. I will keep growing it little by little.
Since much of the data is collected automatically, it may contain mistakes: companies that should not be there, outdated details or incomplete profiles. If you spot one, let me know from the profile itself and I will fix it.
